Digital Collage

Falling in love isn’t always soft. Sometimes it’s dizzying.

It’s Surreal is a digital collage created for a playlist that helped me process what it felt like to be fully accepted for the first time. After a lifetime of conditional affection and people taking more than they gave, being loved—genuinely, patiently, completely—felt like stepping into a dream with no edges.

The piece is equal parts romantic and warped. Because when you’ve lived in survival mode, safety can feel strange. Trust can feel psychedelic.

Visually, this piece leans on surrealist symbolism and texture to echo that emotional shift—how real love can feel unreal. The swirling background distorts perception on purpose. The hand-drawn mushrooms root the piece in nature, growth, and altered states. The bold portrait of Dalí isn’t just a nod to surrealism—it’s a reminder that art (and love) can be weird, wonderful, and hard to explain. I layered colors like emotions: too much, on purpose. The red background is intense but grounded. The black lines anchor the flow. Typography floats just above the surface—bold but not overpowering.

This one was personal. It wasn’t just a playlist cover. It was a way to wrap my head around something beautiful I didn’t think I deserved.
